How it works
Text video and a few photos to 806-358-0817, or email them to maranda@westtexaschimney.com. Useful shots: the firebox and damper from inside, the chimney from the ground on all visible sides, the crown and cap from an upstairs window if you can get one, and a close-up of whatever prompted you to call. Tell us the age of the house and how often you burn.
What you get back
A straight assessment: what we can see, what it likely means, whether it needs attention now or can wait, and a ballpark on what addressing it involves. If it's something we genuinely can't judge from video — most liner questions need a camera inside the flue — we'll say that rather than guess.
Who it suits
It's ideal if you're outside Amarillo and want to know whether a trip out is warranted, if you're buying or selling a house and need a read on the chimney, or if you've had a quote from someone else and want a second opinion before spending money. Plenty of people use it and never need us to come out at all — which is fine.

Does the virtual assessment cost anything?
No. Send the video and we'll give you our read on it. If it turns into work, great; if it doesn't, you've still got an answer.
Can you really tell what's wrong from a video?
For a lot of things, yes — crown cracking, spalling brick, cap damage, flashing problems, and firebox deterioration all show up clearly. Liner condition is the main thing that genuinely needs a camera inside the flue, and we'll tell you when that's the case.
What should I send?
The firebox and damper from inside, the chimney from the ground on every visible side, the crown and cap from above if you can safely get the angle, and a close-up of whatever concerned you. Plus the age of the house and roughly how often you burn.
