Gas logs & gas fireplaces in Amarillo

Gas logs give you a fire in about a second, with no hauling wood, no ash, and no creosote. As an authorized Real Fyre dealer we carry sets that genuinely look like a wood fire rather than a row of ceramic tubes — and we size and fit them properly so they burn the way they were designed to.

Vented or vent-free

Vented sets burn with a tall, yellow, realistic flame and exhaust up the chimney — they're about the look, not the heat. Vent-free sets put nearly all their heat into the room and run with the damper closed, but they have room-size requirements and aren't right for every space. We'll walk you through which one suits your hearth and how you actually intend to use it.

Fitting matters more than people think

A gas log set is not drop-in. Log placement is engineered — putting a log in the wrong spot interrupts the burner pattern, causes sooting, and can throw carbon monoxide. We position each piece to the manufacturer's layout, set the burner and pilot, leak-test the connections, and check the draft before we leave.

Service and conversions

We also service existing gas sets — pilot assemblies, thermocouples, valves, remotes — and convert open wood-burning fireplaces to gas, including running the line where it isn't already there. If your current set sooted up the firebox or won't stay lit, that's usually a fixable adjustment rather than a replacement.

Gas Logs & Fireplaces — common questions

Do gas logs still need the chimney swept?

They still need an annual inspection. Gas doesn't produce creosote the way wood does, but flues still collect debris, rust, and blockages — and a vented set relies on that flue drawing properly.

Why is my gas fireplace sooting up the glass or logs?

Usually log placement interrupting the burner pattern, or an air-shutter adjustment that's drifted. Both are service items rather than reasons to replace the set — call us and we'll take a look.

Can you install gas logs in my existing fireplace?

In most cases yes, provided the firebox is sound and gas can be run to it. We inspect the firebox and flue first, then size a set to the opening.
