Our services

Gas logs & gas fireplaces in Amarillo

Gas logs give you a fire in about a second, with no hauling wood, no ash, and no creosote. As an authorized Real Fyre dealer we carry sets that genuinely look like a wood fire rather than a row of ceramic tubes, and we'll size one to your firebox. The gas connection itself is work for a licensed gas fitter — we don't do that part, and we'll tell you plainly rather than pretend otherwise.

Vented or vent-free

Vented sets burn with a tall, yellow, realistic flame and exhaust up the chimney — they're about the look, not the heat. Vent-free sets put nearly all their heat into the room and run with the damper closed, but they have room-size requirements and aren't right for every space. We'll walk you through which one suits your hearth and how you actually intend to use it.

Sizing matters more than people think

A gas log set is not one-size-fits-all. The set has to match the firebox opening and the flue behind it, and log placement is engineered — a log in the wrong spot interrupts the burner pattern and causes sooting. We measure the firebox, check that the flue actually draws, and specify a set that fits. Your gas fitter handles the connection; we make sure the fireplace it goes into is sound.

The part we do own: the flue

A vented gas set depends entirely on the chimney behind it drawing properly, and that is our work. Flues serving gas appliances still collect debris and still corrode — gas combustion produces water vapor, which is hard on an unlined or deteriorated clay flue. If your set is sooting the firebox, the cause is often the flue rather than the burner, and a camera scan tells you which.

Gas Logs & Fireplaces — common questions

Do gas logs still need the chimney swept?

They still need an annual inspection. Gas doesn't produce creosote the way wood does, but flues still collect debris, rust, and blockages — and a vented set relies on that flue drawing properly.

Why is my gas fireplace sooting up the glass or logs?

It is often the flue rather than the set — poor draw leaves combustion products in the firebox instead of carrying them up. We can camera-scan the flue and tell you whether the chimney is the problem. If it turns out to be the burner or the gas supply, that is a licensed gas fitter's job and we'll say so.

Can you supply gas logs for my existing fireplace?

Yes, provided the firebox and flue are sound — we inspect both first, then size a set to the opening. We supply the set and handle the chimney side; connecting it to gas is work for a licensed gas fitter.
