Chimney sweeping & inspection in Amarillo

A sweep is the one piece of chimney work every fireplace needs on a schedule. We clear creosote from the flue, smoke chamber, and firebox, then run a video camera up masonry chimneys so you can look at the inside of your own chimney on a screen — no guesswork, no scare tactics, and no upsell you didn't ask for.

What a sweep actually involves

Joseph or Rick will lay down drop cloths, seal the opening, and run a HEPA vacuum the entire time — the room looks the same when we leave as when we arrived. Brushes and rods clear creosote and soot from the full length of the flue, then the smoke shelf and firebox get cleaned out by hand. On masonry chimneys we finish with a camera scan of the liner so cracks, gaps, or deterioration show up on video rather than in an invoice you have to take on faith.

Why Panhandle chimneys need it yearly

Creosote is what's left when wood smoke condenses on a cool flue wall, and it builds faster in our climate than most people expect — cold snaps mean long, slow, smoldering burns, which is exactly the condition that lays down the heaviest glaze. The NFPA recommends a professional inspection every year and a sweep whenever buildup warrants it. If you burn through Amarillo winters, once a year is the right rhythm.

The honest verdict

At the end you get a straight answer: burn it, or don't burn it until X is fixed. If the chimney is clean and sound, we'll tell you so and you'll pay for a sweep and nothing else. That's been the reputation here since 1975, and it's the reason most of our work comes from people who were sent by a neighbour.

Sweep & Inspect — common questions

How much does a chimney sweep cost in Amarillo?

Pricing depends on the chimney, the height, and how much buildup is in there, so we quote after a quick description of your setup. Call or text 806-358-0817 and we'll give you a number — and right now there's $50 off any sweep.

How long does a chimney sweep take?

A standard sweep and inspection is usually about an hour to 90 minutes for a single-story masonry chimney. Second-story chimneys, heavy creosote glaze, or an added camera scan of a second flue can push it longer.

Will sweeping make a mess in my house?

No. We seal the fireplace opening, lay drop cloths, and run a HEPA vacuum throughout the job. Cleaning up thoroughly is part of the work, not an extra.
