Chimney repair & masonry in the Texas Panhandle
Panhandle weather is punishing on masonry. Freeze-thaw cycles, wind-driven rain, and hail work mortar loose year after year until water gets in — and water is what actually destroys a chimney. We repair crowns, repoint brick, reline flues, and rebuild from the roofline up when it's past saving.

Water is the real culprit
Almost every chimney repair we're called out for traces back to water. A hairline crack in the crown lets rain into the masonry, it freezes overnight, expands, and widens the crack — repeat that across a few Amarillo winters and you get spalling brick, rusted dampers, and stained ceilings. Catching it at the crown stage is a small job. Catching it after the liner has gone is not.
What we repair
Crown rebuilds and crown coating, tuckpointing and repointing of deteriorated mortar joints, chimney caps and flashing, waterproofing with a vapour-permeable sealer, firebox rebuilds, and flue relining where the existing liner has cracked or the chimney is being converted to a new appliance. Where the structure is too far gone, our masonry crew takes it down and rebuilds it properly.
Camera-verified, then quoted
We don't quote repairs off a photo from the ground. The chimney gets inspected and, where relevant, camera-scanned first, and we show you the actual condition before recommending anything. If a crown patch will hold it for another decade, that's what we'll say — we're not looking to sell you a rebuild you don't need.
Repair & Restore — common questions
How do I know if my chimney needs repair?
The common signs are a crumbling crown or mortar, white staining on the brick (efflorescence), rust on the damper or firebox, a damaged or missing cap, spalling brick faces, or smoke entering the room. Any of those is worth an inspection.
Do you give free repair estimates?
Yes — the repair assessment is free. We inspect, camera-verify where it applies, and show you what we found before quoting anything.
Can a chimney be repaired in winter?
Some of it. Relining and interior work can go ahead year-round, but masonry mortar and crown work need temperatures above roughly 40°F to cure properly, so those get scheduled around the weather. Booking repairs in late summer avoids the wait.
